About

That's What Who Said? is an unofficial fan trivia game celebrating The Office (US). The premise is simple: we show you a real line of dialogue, and you guess which character said it. Some lines are gimmes (“Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.”), and some will make you question whether you've actually watched the show nine times or just had it on in the background.

The dialogue database

Every quote in the game is a real line from the show's transcripts — roughly 57,000 lines of dialogue spanning all 9 seasons, 186 episodes, and 32 characters, from Michael and Dwight down to the deep cuts like Hank the security guard. You can browse the full catalog by season or character, or dig into the stats to see which characters do the most talking. (It's Michael. It's not close.)

How to play

Just hit Play — no account needed. Every correct guess earns a point, and your streak of correct answers is tracked as you go. If you create a free account (or sign in with Google), your anonymous score comes with you, your points count toward the leaderboard, and your stats follow you across devices.

There's also the Daily Dundie: five quotes a day, the same for everyone, with a shareable emoji result grid and a streak to protect. It resets at midnight Scranton time, and it's the fastest way to settle who in your group chat is the true Regional Manager of Office knowledge (and who is merely Assistant to the Regional Manager).

Who made this?

This is a one-person passion project, built with Next.js and FastAPI and a lot of affection for Dunder Mifflin, Scranton. It started as a simple “who said this line?” game between friends and got wildly out of hand, as these things do. If you find a bug, have an idea, or just want to argue about whether Robert California was a good hang, get in touch.

The legal bit

This is a fan-made parody project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to NBCUniversal, Deedle-Dee Productions, Reveille Productions, or the creators of The Office. All character names, episode titles, and quoted dialogue are used for commentary and parody purposes under fair use. No copyrighted video, audio, or imagery from the show is hosted here. If you want to watch The Office itself — and you should — it's available on the usual streaming services.
