Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

By using That's What Who Said? you agree to these terms. They're short, because this is a trivia game, not a bank.

The service

This is a free, unofficial fan project provided as-is, for fun. We work hard to keep it fast and available, but we make no guarantees of uptime, and features may change or disappear as the game evolves. In the rare event of a database migration or a serious bug, score data may need to be adjusted or reset — we'll avoid it wherever possible. Schrute Bucks have no real-world value, and the exchange rate to Stanley Nickels remains the same as the ratio of unicorns to leprechauns.

Your account

Accounts are optional — you can play as a guest forever. If you do create one, keep your login to yourself and pick a username that isn't offensive, impersonating someone else, or otherwise something Toby would have to file paperwork about. Usernames appear publicly on the leaderboard, so choose accordingly. We may rename or remove accounts with abusive usernames or behavior.

Fair play

The leaderboard is only fun if it's honest. Don't tamper with API requests, automate guesses with bots or scripts, create multiple accounts to farm points, or otherwise try to manipulate scores. The server validates every answer anyway, so mostly you'd be wasting your own time — but accounts caught cheating may have scores reset or be removed. Identity theft is not a joke, Jim.

Acceptable use

Don't use the site for anything illegal or harmful, don't attempt to disrupt the service or access other players' data, and don't scrape the site at a volume that degrades it for everyone else. Basically: be a Jim, not a Todd Packer.

Intellectual property

The Office, its characters, and its dialogue are the property of NBCUniversal and the show's creators. This site is an unaffiliated fan project that quotes dialogue for the purposes of commentary, criticism, and parody under fair use — see the About page for the full disclaimer. The game's own code, design, and original content belong to us. Sharing your daily results, screenshots, and links is not just allowed but encouraged.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any damages arising from your use of the site. It's a trivia game; the worst realistic outcome is discovering you know less about Season 8 than you thought, and frankly that's on Season 8.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top will tell you when. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the new terms. Questions or concerns? Contact us.

“Toby is in HR, which technically means he works for corporate, so he's not really part of our family. Also, he's divorced, so he's not really part of his family either.” — M. Scott
